The Curvy Fashionista- "Wacoal for the Holidays!"
Yes- I am still a Fashion Editor for The Curvy Fashionista- Please check out the link/piece below on my trip to Wacoal's private fitting. I recently received a great package from them and I absolutely love the brand!
When asked to attend Wacoals’ 2012 private viewing at the Sunset Tower Hotel I, of course, underestimated the brand and its elegance. Not aware of the bit of embarrassment I was getting ready to undergo, I agreed to a fitting . Transforming my target brand bra into the ‘Retro Chic’ full busted underwire Wacoal bra was a moment I will never forget. Instantly my mood and ‘breast mojo’ changed- I was feeling in control while still being able to showcase my style.
I think one of the problems with lingerie companies is that, sometimes, they forget about the customer. Just because we have larger (or smaller) breast doesn’t mean we want to wear boring bra’s. Wacoal solved this heightend assumption- allowing their consumer to be flirty,conservative,bold,elegant or even a bit on the wild side, Wacaol has undergarments for all individuals.

VIBE Mix Master Session recap: Be your own DJ!
VIBE New York & VIBE LA hosted a Mix master session with Hyundai downtown Los Angeles. The VIBE Ipad app is amazzzinngg! Literally you can become our own DJ-its that easy.It looks something like this:
DJ Kiss sampled all of the instruments step by step for us.By the end of the session we were all 'jamming'!Too bad I don't have a ipad 8/.

Happy Holidays: Nakeah Cosmetics duo !
I met celebrity make-up artist Nakeah Fuller when I was assisting on a shoot over the summer. Since then we have been inseparable. She is an all-around professional. Fuller owns All About Face Academy downtown Los Angeles and also has her own makeup line, Nakeah Cosmetics. I leaped for the opportuniuty when asked to be apart of her beauty team!
Last week Nakeah hosted a private Holiday party at her beauty lounge on Melrose.We are planning a few awesome projects for the new year- keep a look out 0_0!

Hey loves! I know- I am not the greatest at updating my weblog. So sorry! You will be happy to know that all of the time spent 'not updating' did not go straight to the trashcan. So much has happened since LAFW which I display on my Facebook page ( please go check it out : http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Nyvia-Weathersby/206611689372699). I have been in talks with MTV in regards to some upcoming projects as well as a few entertainment fashion sites( cross your fingers!). Most recently I have been running through LA on a variety of different shoots with VIBE Magazine and some awesome fashion savvy professionals.
Bare with me as I try my best to update this 'thang'. As of yet, I just completed a fashion segment with Celebrity Stylist, Chris Mannor,Angela Simmons and JoyRich.Despite the minor glitches, I enjoyed working with such a diverse group of people- Myself and Chris came up with the concept of the segment in about two days. LA Fashion Week: Its a rap !
LA Fashion Week has come to a close- *sad face*.I must admit, this season was more innovative and colorful than I expected ( which I loved!). From runway showcases,after-party treatments and private Eco-friendly product viewings, LA Fashion Week made me proud.

Balance.Real Friends.Where are they?
Loves! In the mist of covering events for LA Fashion Week ( Vibe Magazine/The Curvy Fashionista),Tora Bedgood, an amazing Music Journalist hosted a pre-bday party at Rush Lounge!Can you say ..'FUN'? Also one of my very best girlfriends, I made it my personal duty to make her day as amazing as possible. Needless to say, I missed a few events on this day in return.
Despite the flexible definition of 'friendship' and the many careless ways it is tossed around nowadays, I can truly say that this woman is my 'real' friend.We met a little over a year ago when I was assisting on a shoot for Angela Simmons. I suppose you can say it was 'love at first sight'?

Fashion Exhibit: Coming to life!
The past year I have been working with Woodbury Universities Fashion Exhibit which holds some of the most beautiful historic pieces I have ever seen ( In my lifetime). From YSL to Courreges, I am always blown away by the taste and aesthetic of the designer brands we hold.Since this past summer, we have been preparing for this years Fall exhibit- with a theme of geometric shapes and beauty.

In Social Media class.. Socializing? ( Do not try this at home)
Aside from trying to change the world one fashion article at a time, I also enjoy going to school.So.. for the last 3 1/2 years I have been attending Woodbury University with a focus in Communications and Fashion.
The best part about school is it's social construct in a classroom: you never really know what you're going to get ( Life is like..a box of chocolate?). In this particular case 'you never know what your going to get when putting a Power 106 fashionista (Jess) and a Vogue inherited Journalist ( That would be me) in a Social Media class...together.'
The outcome? We "Get Social". Basically, although extremely long, this course is doing wonders for my communication strategies and social media love affairs.

As I prep for the Los Angeles arrival of Bougie Magazine and the shoot for Dope Magazine, I have recently been adopted into the Curvy Fashionista family as one of the many amazing Fashion Editors! Bringing both a personal and professional admiration to my 'to-do' list, The Curvy Fashionista is one of the most highly proclaimed plus size fashion sites in the webworld. Owner of T.C.F and Style Director of Plus Model Magazine, Marie Leggette, has been a great inspiration for myself and fellow fashion addicts.

Hollywood runs into.. Malibu?
The last few weeks have been a combination of Toronto Fashion Week madness and publication hopping. This weekend I covered the Miss Malibu 2012 crowning event which included my love Kristina G. from E! News, Aubrey O'day, OK Magazine and a host of other influential individuals and artists.
Aside from the fact that it was freezing cold, the ceremony was very beautiful. Held on what seemed to be the highest mountain in Malibu, the view was extraordinary!
